Pedri reveals reasons he always pass the ball to Messi

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has praised Lionel Messi, the club’s captain, as the most significant figure in the club’s history.

This was said by Koeman in answer to Messi’s equaling of Xavi Hernandez’s all-time appearance record for Barcelona.

Recall that Messi equaled Xavi’s record of 767 appearances for Barcelona in Monday’s 4-1 LaLiga victory over Huesca at the Camp Nou.

Koeman’s side won all three points against Huesca thanks to a brace from the Argentine and goals from Antoine Griezmann and Oscar Mingueza.

After the game, Koeman said in a post-match press conference,

“I cannot say more about Leo.

“The level he has for many years, many games. He has equalled Xavi, and on Sunday, in principle, he will surpass him.

“He is the most important man in the history of Barca. Luckily he is still with us.”
