“Made in Lagos” VS “Carpe Diem” – Which Is The Best [REVIEW]

There was a heated debate a few days ago about which of these albums is a classic.

Even though there was no victor or vanquish, Wizkid fans appear to have had more reasons to believe they won this argument.

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, many Nigerians, including Wizkid and Olamide, released new music.

Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album, which has been circulating for years, has finally been released, and Olamide, who had no pressure dropping a new project after releasing his ninth project titled ‘999’ earlier this year, has still released a brand new project titled ‘Carpe Diem.’

Despite these harsh criticisms, ‘Made in Lagos’ has stood tall, reaching several global charts and producing a couple of hit singles such as ‘Blessed’ featuring Damian Marley, ‘Essence’ featuring Tems, and ‘Ginger’ featuring Burna Boy, among others.

Olamide, on the other hand, unlocked an enviable project that featured a slew of new Nigerian music talent.

Olamide’s 12-track album, which features his rapper friend (Phyno), label mate (Fireboy DML), Peruzzi, and a slew of new acts, is his way of reclaiming his place in the game.

Olamide’s second project in 2020 is “Carpe Diem,” produced by P.Priime, Pheelz, ID Cabasa, Vstix, and Young John.

“Carpe Diem” is a Latin word that translates to ‘Seize the day’ . It is deployed when urging someone to maximize their day and make the best out of their present situation.
