Pepsi Nigeria, a leading soft drink brand, has announced that legendary Afrobeat artiste, Lagbaja, and popular singer and rapper, Rema, will bring their Confam Gbedu experience to life at the 8th Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) for a first-of-its-kind joint performance.

Pepsi announced in a statement released in Lagos on Friday that the star artists will perform live at the awards show, which will take place on May 14, 2022.

Segun Ogunleye, General Manager, Marketing, Seven-Up Bottling Company, expressed his delight at Pepsi’s participation in the AMVCA, which he described as an extension of the brand’s passion point, adding that Pepsi is passionate about promoting Nigerian pop culture by creating memorable and unforgettable experiences.

“The AMVCA honors exceptional achievements in the continent’s film industry.”

For our part, we see the collaboration with the AMVCA as an opportunity to honor our outstanding entertainers by providing our customers and the viewing public with an experience to remember.

“We are thrilled to announce that Afrobeat legend Lagbaja and Pepsi Ambassador Rema will headline the inaugural Confam Gbedu musical concert.” We believe that by using music to connect with generations from the past, present, and future, Pepsi’s position as the refreshment of choice will be further cemented.

“The performance will add a new and distinct dynamic to the AMVCAs,” Ogunleye said.
